Jules Ambrose is best friends with Josh Chen’s sister Ava. So they have known each other for years amd hates each other too. Everyone is aware of it, thus neither tries to disguise it. They quarrel, argue, and fight relentlessly, always at each other's throats. There is no holding back with them.

It started when Jules and Ava were in college sharing a dorm. Jules overheard something Josh said about her to Ava and she wasn't hesitant to let Josh know how little she cared about him.

Josh also finds Jules to be impulsive and wild, which bothers him because he thinks that if Jules is involved, Ava would get into a lot of trouble that he won't be able to bail her out of.

Since almost everyone in their vicinity can sense the simmering sexual tension that has developed between them over the years as a result of their enmity and banter, neither of them hesitates when they strike a bargain to engage in an enemies with benefits situation. But when you spend more time in bed with someone, you start to see them for who they really are, and all of a sudden, feelings you thought you had never had before start to surface.

The slow development of Jules and Josh's romance truly got me and not to mention the steam in the book...wink...wink. Also I’m a sucker for romances where he falls first after spending a good portion of the book wanting to kill her. And it was delightful to watch Josh go through the motions of his emotions—denying, accepting, confusion, denying. I adored their friendship as well as the how they supported one another unexpectedly, how the other person altered their lives, and how everything in their lives just made sense when they were together.
