Fallon O'Neill, the main character, suffers fourth-degree burns and lifelong scars on the left side of her body on November 9 when a fire breaks out at her father's home. She consequently loses her self-confidence and gives up on her promising acting career in television.
Fallon remembers her father igniting the fire and leaving her asleep while the house caught fire. Two years later, she is still very angry with him. The two of them are having a heated disagreement at a nearby café when aspiring author Ben Kessler sits down next to Fallon and stands up for her against her awful father who was demotivating her for the worst.
Before Fallon departs for New York to pursue a career as a stage actress on Broadway, she & Ben decides to spend the rest of the day together.  And the connection between them can already be felt through the pages.
When Fallon and Ben’s time together soon comes to a close, they agree to meet on the same day – Nov. 9 – for the next five years to hold one another accountable for their goals, all without communicating with each other between every meeting.
We follow their story for five years, every November 9 different from the last.
Until one day Fallon starts to question if Ben has been giving her the truth or creating a flawless reality in order to pull the ultimate plot twist.

I fell in love with Ben almost instantly. He said and did all the right things that could make any girl swoon. Like my mind was flooded with emotions when I read the closet scene. He also loves reading, which is a major plus for a bookworm like me.
As for Fallon, she starts off with no confidence due to the burns on her face but Ben brings out the best of her, so as the time progresses we also get to see her evolve into a stronger person as the real character development in this book.
And then BAMMM the plot twist hits you right off the face, afterall whats a CoHo book without a lil' drama !!
